John tried to ignore the throbbing in each of his legs and his stomach as he adjusted the braces and levered himself into some semblance of a standing position. Lily had been filling out a chart, mind only half on her work, when a sprog had stumbled through the doors and collapsed. In a moment she was by his side, kneeling down and cradling his head in her lap. Instinctively checking his pulse points, she murmured soothingly, not really paying attention, "Dr. House doesn't work here, mate. Just lie still a moment. Where does it hurt?"

"Every--" he coughed, trying to wipe his eyes with his right arm so he could at least see, but was unsuccessful.

Though House ignored Cox's snark about the wheelchair, he did give brief thought to Stephen's suggestion about turning a part of this kids body into cheese. It would be way more interesting. But he couldn't ignore it when Lily started growling at him - good lord, he couldn't make a move in this castle without being reprimanded.
"Oh, gee, pardon my mistake. I was kind of hoping that there would be doctors in the Hospital Wing," House said sarcastically, tipping the wheelchair back so he could lean on the back wheels. "Silly thought, I suppose. I don't know why I thought that maybe sending a sick kid into the Hospital Wing might be a good idea." Besides, he'd been... coerced.
Letting the wheelchair fall back onto all four wheels, House rolled forward a few feet away from Lily, and glanced at John. "Good lord, it's a simple cast removal," he announced loudly. "Is that hard to do? Just take it off and ship him out, if you're all so pissed ( ... )
