"Mine's having kids." The kid abuse, tho, that sets her teeth on edge. Nothing will piss off a cop like kid abuse. There's just no excuse, no getting out of it, and no chance the victim will really bounce back.

"Look, I'm babysitting Marcone. T ell your cop buddies to come talk to me? I'll give them a briefing and maybe they'll lay off." She nods a little. "Yeah. Some healing magic, some other things. I can't really say because he won't really talk."
Lily glanced over at Murphy. "Do you have any? Kids, I mean." Murphy would make a great mother, Lily thought, though she couldn't really see the woman with one now.
Laughing, Lily wrinkled her nose a little. "No. I got married during a war. Trust me, you notice the times when you feel safe all the more when most of your life is spent with your wand in hand." Then she grinned. "But the pillow thing is important. And, hey, human heater! Can't beat that. Have to say, one of the things I miss the most." She took another drink, fiddling with the spoon, swirling it through the ice cream.
"That would be fantastic, actually. I'll let them know. They seem to think I'm some helpless woman who needs to be protected or some shite and don't listen to a bloody word I say." Healing Magic, huh? Lily looked interested. She might have to wander by the Marcone in the library sometime. If she could get a look at what books he had, she might be able to figure something out

"No." She rubs her thumb and finger together. "The time wasn't right." Time was never right, but... "I always wanted them." Just... not then. Not right away.
"He actually played dumb when I claimed the good pillow. As if he didn't know." She snorts a little, disbelieving. "And at least in bed we're the same height."
Her eyes sparkle a little. So they thought Lily was weak, did they? "Oh, I'll put the fear of god into them. Fear of us, too." She saluted with her spoon before dipping it back into the chocolate.
"Short answer? Hogwarts. You want the long answer, too?"
Which one of them talked? I wouldn't want to kneecap the wrong guy. (kidding, somewhat).
Ever made an alcoholic milkshake? I feel the need for ice cream. Late night ice cream.
