Emo Poetry Slam, yo! (Open RP!)

Jan 12, 2007 17:55

Sure, magic was interesting enough, but Strong Sad's true love was poetry, and it was high time he held one of his fabled poetry slams. He was sure that some students, and maybe even a professor or two, held the same adoration of rhyme, the same devotion to meter, the same respect for depressing themes that he did.

After spending an hour with his calligraphy set and another several hours standing alone outside in the freezing Scottish winter weather to "warm up" his emo engine, he slowly ambled to an empty classroom and hung a banner above the door:

Inside the room, Strong Sad set up a podium on the teacher's desk and then began to recite one of his masterpieces. Anyone walking by would be able to hear the dragging tone of his voice projecting into the echoey corridor through the open classroom door.

O round red ball!
Propelled at me from down the hall
Are you aiming for my face,
Or is my butt your chosen place?
Either way it'll really hurt
I'll probably land face first in the dirt
Or if it just rained, then it'll be mud
And if the ball hit my nose, then there might be blood
I think I'll lie there for some time
Maybe use the experience to write a rhyme
That's how this poem came to be had
All from a ball thrown by Strong Bad

((Feel free to have your chars come in and recite their own poetic attempts, comment on Strong Sad's, or just comment in general. I'm open to chars requesting poems of any kind (e.g., the types Strong Sad mentioned in his banner) or on any topic from Strong Sad. You're also welcome to have chars have conversations with other chars who have already posted in the RP; I'll do my best to RP Strong Sad with everyone who posts in here, but I'm perfectly fine with chars doing their own thing with each other, too. I just thought this would be a fun way to have chars pick on Strong Sad to let muns try their hand at cracky poetry.))
