"Relax would you." Jack wandered over from his general not helping but picking at food on the table to standing by JD and attempting to behave. "It's perfect. Food's good too. What was it you made again?" So I can possibly warn people or get the house elves to get rid of it...
JD took a breath, then smiled pleasantly. "That, that, and that." he said, pointing to two grey blobbish looking dishes, and another that wouldn't look out of place in a Ghost Busters movie. "I hope everyone likes the dinner."
Jack looked at them and pulled a face behind JD before smiling as he leant over to inspect them, cautiously trying one of them, or rather finding something to dip in it then sniff it before offering it to Key. Key sniffed it then walked off obviously offended. Jack laughed and tried to cover up what had happened with a cheery smile.
JD grinned and wagged a finger at Key. "Not until later." he said, then glanced at the dish. "Try a bit, see what you think." he said, then smiled hopefully.
Steeler burst through the door, happily bounding along, nose twitching with the scents of food and Key and people. Lily was close on his heels with Cox following behind her. Lily was carrying several dishes - a large platter of chocolate crepes, a cheese and onion pie, and a plate of beef pasties - as well as a bottle of good white wine and a small wrapped box, all charmed to balance perfectly in one hand. The other hand was, of course, holding tightly to Steeler's leash and Lily glared fondly down at the dog.
"Right, I know, you're excited. I got that when you tried to set a sprint record up the bloody stairs." Grumbling good-naturedly, she looked up and grinned at JD and Jack. "Hello, mates. Sorry for the entrance - I promise, we're trying to teach him manners."
JD smiled as he came over, and held out a hand. "Hi Lily, hi Doctor Cox, glad you could make it. Here, let me help you with that." he smelled the dishes a little and grinned. "These smell fantastic."
Perry Cox hated Thanksgiving. He hated Christmas, he hated Halloween -- really, he just hated every holiday. He especially hated this particular Thanksgiving because, while he did actually feel he had some things to be thankful for for once in his life, he was being forced to spend time with people like JD and the Doctor instead of doing what he usually did: lie around on the couch in sweats and watch the football games.
He had started drinking pretty early, just to be able to stomach getting dragged to this thing -- that was why Lily was carrying everything. Not that he was falling-down drunk yet, but all the same... it seemed like a better idea to let her magic the stuff. "Afternoon, Newbie, Mrs. Newbie," he greeted them with unusual cheer.
Elliot made her way to their place, knocking on the door. She didn't know what to bring, and one usually brought something, so she ended up just getting a bottle of wine. That worked, right. She hoped she wasn't too late or anything! She had totally spent too much time getting ready.
After having talked to Dom, Brice had needed to take a walk to clear his mind, and he had nearly forgotten about the party. He had just barely had the time to shower and put on a clean t-shirt (it looked identical to the one he had been wearing before, but at least it smelled better), before hurrying up to this... Room of Requirement.
He caught sight of Mel outside the door and jogged up to her. He was grinning brightly, pleased to have found her. After all, she knew these people. He didn't. And he hated being stuck with people he didn't know, especially blokes that apparently did not hesitate to flaunt their bits to anyone in the Great Hall.
"I am..." Jack walked away tugging JD along with him away from Mel and Brice. "What did I do to get that reaction?" Jack made sure they were away from everyone who seemed to have someone to talk to or get drunk with.
"Going as you planned?" He couldn't help wonder if Cox would make it to the meal without passing out.
"You were being sweet." he said, smiling and leaning against the wall. "I was hoping everyone would be here on time, but we've still got Sarah and Sirius to come..." he frowned.

It's not big. It's 22nd-century hot chocolate. But it's precious, and so it's a good gift.
Brice, she supposes, will be making his own way here. Either that or sulk that she didn't wait.

He gave her a peck on the cheek. "Hey babe."
