Since arriving at Hogwarts, Codex had seen weird stuff. A lot of weird stuff, including a talking fish, a talking horse, a talking hat, and two naked people, one of whom had kissed her.
She still wasn't used to it. Seeing a robot guy was still very, very weird.
Her eyes fixed on his metal hand. It looked like something out of a movie. "You have a metal hand," she said, sounding slightly dazed.
"Yeah, if you want. I tend to just... uh, stay in my room. A lot." She'd stay in there more if there was any internet connectivity around here. As it was, she was effectively forced to go socialize. Poorly. "But yeah, they don't mind you going, like, anywhere. Except home, I guess." Conflicting feelings on that one. She missed her home, and her cozy apartment that she shared with Zaboo (TOTALLY PLATONICALLY. Very emphatically totally platonically.) but despite everything... dude. Magic.
"I don't know, actually." Unsurprisingly. Codex was more or less neutral good. "I know sometimes people get turned into popcorn, so maybe that. I don't know." She paused, considering. "Then again, considering that people here know how to use magic to blow things up, it might be kind of self-regulating. Like... a magic cold war or something."
He considered that. "If it's a school, don't they give people detention? They don't really let people take each other out." Man, if his old school had resolved fights with magical explosions, he might have stuck around to finish high school.
Codex shrugged. "They might. Nobody mentioned it to me. I'm planning to learn explodey-type spells first anyway, just in case." No Power Word: Shield here. Not that she knew of, anyway. Therefore, nuking was the answer. Lots and lots of magic nukes. This place had the potential to be so awesome.
"So, uh. Voting. How about... which animal do you like better? Lions, badgers, snakes, or eagles? They're the mascots, so... yeah."

"What happens if you break the rules?" Always good to know.

Explodey-type spells sounded like a good idea, no matter what the circumstances. Blowing shit up seemed to be the answer to most of his problems.
"Lions sound like the best mascot." It beat the Fighting Anteaters, or whatever school administrators were thinking up these days.
