not much

I came online expecting a bunch of posts on the success of yesterday evening's potluck, but I didn't really. All I'll say is that it was good, and fun, and I wish more people from my grade had been there, but whatever. Lan is weird for thinking her performance wasn't brilliant... We had you do an encore!! :)

I'm sure you understand that although grades do not reflect your success as a human being, they still are important to some degree. work hard (but not too hard) and play hardy! hearts tarts!

This is exactly what I wanted to say. Thanks Lan.

Don't worry Kathy, hopefully things will look up. Try hard, and really, have your fun. Make some good friends and just chill, cause that's what it's all about.

You can do it Kathy! I know it's a tough year, but you can pull through. Overthrow that crazy Azn stereotype! And be proud of it!

Ah, grades. It's good that you're not letting them rule your life. I used to let that happen, and I was a lame person then. Well.. I don't know if I'm a cooler person now. But at least I'm not ruled by school grades!

You can't totally not care either, of course. But you shouldn't be disappointed with a non-perfect grade if you gave it your best shot. (This seems pretty obvious when stated, but it's interesting to see how many people who are just naturally more talented in English and history become sad when they see their math and science grades, or visa versa.)

Tenth grade is definitely very difficult, but you'll pull through.

Cathy.

I have a friend here at Columbia

who reminds me of you.

Her name is Jennifer Choi and she's from norcal, so she says hella. but besides saying norcal-isms, she reminds me of you.

that's all.

That's the spirit Kathy! Don't let school get you down. But be happy that we're out of it for 2-3 months. Yay! And thanks for the happy birthday wishes. Hehe, I'm glad that I didn't notice it until a week later. Makes the birthday joy last a little longer. I love you!
