They remind me, only together, of thanksgiving at my grandmother's house 10-12 years ago. I've refered to my grandmother before as a matriarch and to her house as my family's mecca, but 10 or so years ago, it was more so. My family was really bigger, and half of us were children. Did you see the rain today? I didn't, but I hear it was beautiful. You could taste it even on the third floor, even in the computer science room where there are no windows. We had a brown-out during computer applications, and my explanation of the importation of spreadsheets was accompanied by thunder.

I was fortunate enough to be in the biology lab. The rain leaked into that little room in the back. I loved how the hallways were darker than usual, and how it seemed to be late in the evening.

I was soaked when I got to work: wonderful. My hair was still wet with the rain this morning.
