This was not my favorite episode! It felt gimmicky to me, like every drama has to have its outsider perspective episode with its handheld camera and cute misunderstanding. The reveal at the end was TOTALLY AWESOME and of course made me see everything that had come before differently, but I didn't enjoy most of the episode as I was watching it to the extent that I've enjoyed most other episodes. I also really loved those few seconds of Sharon with the Doctor and how that was handled. The other Sharon on Caprica being all gleeful and saying "I'm still alive!" when she saw the footage creeped me the hell out (in a good way ( ... )

I'm very purposefully *not* touching on any meaning in the future or lack thereof; but there is one aspect of the documentary that I rather liked. It showed what life is like on the Galactica as a viper pilot, the stresses and hell they go through and what it means to climb into that cockpit and hang on to the training of "already expect to be dead". It is a sobering look at what you may have guessed at hitherto, but not really, necessarily, considered.

And as a nostalgic child of the 70s, I squeeed and jumped up and down when they used the original Battlestar Galactica music in the documentary. :D

oh, I was going to ask about the music thing -- I hadn't realized that was the original BSG music!!

Yes... and I even had the piano music to it when I was 13 or so, and practiced it until I could play it by memory. I still can take a fairly good stab at it now. :)

D'Anna Biers -- wonder if there's any significance to her name...

Cylons in a Caprican Cinema -- that concept was creepy.

I sort of wonder why Adama when he took the tape from D'Anna wouldn't have imagined that she might have made another copy of it.

Adama's point was awesome about how people need to see that the soldiers are regular people with their "arses hanging out". Of course now that we know it's cylons, it's sort of like they have filmed the inside of the ship and are getting even better ideas on how to program themselves to be more "human like" maybe (just throwing that out...) :)

Kind of interesting that it was a cylon who discovered who was giving death threats to Tigh. Cylons seem to want Tigh alive perhaps...?

I know Sophie didn't like this episode as much, but I think I really did. I liked seeing the life on Galactica from this "outsider" perspective.

I'm curious as to what kind of significance you might be thinking of. Any details?

I briefly wondered if Adama was being a little too trusting about the tape thing. Perhaps he thought that so little time elapsed and that D'Anna was still in sickbay that she wouldn't have had time to make a copy. Which makes me think... that's a good point! How did D'Anna make that second copy if she only had her camera there? Hmmm...

I'm glad you liked this episode. It isn't among my top favs, but it's a good solid one for me. And, yes, the cylons in the Caprican cinema at the end, and the big reveal... Oooooh! Creepy and cool!

I have no ideas about the name...but I feel like maybe there IS some significance, if that makes any sense!

Onward now to watch part 2 of Resurrection!!! Sophie says it's really really really good!

Onward to Part 2. Hurrah! Enjoy. There's a certain scene in there (I won't give any hints or details) that I am very fond of, so I look forward to any comments you might come up with. However, not here! I'll put up a new Resurrection post for you two. :)
