It's warmed up a little since last week, but it's still pretty frickin' cold when you're standing outside for an hour and a half. But you do what you gotta do to get a front row spot for the Decmeberists at the Riv, so last night aliste and I froze our fingers and toes off before getting finally let

Heh, I just looked through them, and you've got some really nice ones in there! I love those overhead lights that sometimes make a stripey light pattern in the background. And all the pictures of John on the drum. Haha!

Aha - NOW I understand what Marty Leonards meant about "make sure you get into the crowd participation"!

I liked John; he couldn't keep still, with his hands moving in time to the music when he wasn't playing. Best part: when he dance around - *G*.

Yeah, I think it definitely would have helped if I knew their songs better, but since I didn't get into the CD, that wasn't happening. Cool band, though; I loved how they really enjoyed playing - and I wish I'd seen the WHALE!

Hope it was just as great tonight.

The last time I saw the Decemberists, the opener was Lavender Diamond. So does having a band ending in the word "diamond" guarantee you a spot as a Decemberists opener?
