Challenge #1: Beginnings
In anticipation of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opening soon in theatres worldwide, we thought now would be a great time to (hopefully) inspire some creativity!
Once a month, we'll post a challenge to the comm with multiple prompts to use as inspiration to write/draw/icon/vid/etc. Feel free to pick whichever one appeals to you, or combine a few, or create more than one story/art for more than one prompt.
Interpret the prompts as literally or figuratively as you like. Use the character/actor of the month, or choose other characters/actors instead. Nothing is locked in; the only requirement is that whatever you create, it has something to do with The Hobbit, either the book or films, the characters or actors.

This month, it seemed right to start at the beginning, so we're going to start with the hobbit himself...
