For some reason, the company has to say longer in Rivendell than they do in the book/movie, and despite his uncle's dire warnings and misgivings about elves, Kili finds he quite likes it there. And he also likes the company of the elves- he can discuss archery with them and they are impressed by his skills, they don't tease him for being too pretty/too tall/not having enough beard, and some of them are even as playful and fond of pranks as he is (Elladan and Elrohir maybe? They definitely need some love).

Kili is especially taken with an another young elfen archer named Legolas (what's Legolas doing in Rivendell? Yeah, I don't know, make it work somehow! Maybe visting with the Twins or something...). Up to the author if this develops into something more or not.

Basically, I want Kili bonding and cavorting with elves (gen or shippy), and Thorin being not amused.

He wakes late the next morning, groaning sluggishly as something nudges him in the side. Kíli grumbles and tries to curl deeper into his cloak but the nudge comes again and again until he finally rolls over and pries open his eyes.

"Did you have a good night?" Fíli grins down at him, looking far too perky in the face of his brother's misery.

"As a matter of fact, I did," Kíli retorts, glaring up at him. "Though the morning after sucks," he admits when he finally manages to sit up, squinting against the agony of light. Mahal's beard, my head. Remind me never to challenge an elf to a drinking contest."Where's everyone else?" He asks as he looks around the courtyard ( ... )

The archery range is tucked carefully into a forest clearing in the manner of all the elvish creations, but the targets are many and the distance is fair so before long they begin a friendly competition. Elladan and Elrohir shoot first and though they are skilled enough their interests obviously lie in other areas, so Kíli dares to hope he will not be terribly outmatched. Indeed, the twins are quick to abandon their bows as soon as Fíli demonstrates his talents, axe blades spinning a siren song of steel as they slam into the targets. So really their competition ends before it even begins, devolving into an impromptu lesson in axe throwing for Elrond's curious children ( ... )

You're welcome, it was fun to write. A nice change from all the sad things I did before. And it is finished so the last parts will be up within the week, I just have limited internet access as the moment.

At the news, Fíli and Kíli sneak off to find the others in order to say their fond farewells. It is with much distress that the elves learn of their parting for they too have grown attached to their dwarven cohorts, and they promise tearfully to remember all the times they've had ( ... )

I like to think that maybe because they were such good friends Legolas showed up at the BoFA and kicked some ass, saving everyone's lives. But that is open to interpretation.

Glad you enjoyed it, and getting bookmarked is one of the best compliments there is.

I hadn't actually planned on it because I like the idea that it could go either way.

But maybe after I type up 2 other finished short fills, my Fili pov of Kilbo that refuses to end and it's companion piece and finish writing my Titanic AU I'll get around to it. So it's possible, but don't hold your breath ;).
