Minifill; The Trouble With Mapsrata_toskrJanuary 11 2013, 05:27:26 UTC
Here's a minifill for you. Hopefully someone will still do a proper one at some point since I just don't have time right now and I'd love to read it as well.
---
Thorin, give me that map.
No! I can read it.
Of course you can, Thorin, but you remember what you promised me when I joined this company?
I know, I know, I said I'd always let one of the others choose our path. But I'm sure if you just allowed me to do it this one time, you'd see that all the other times were flukes.
You led us off a cliff, Thorin.
It was a small cliff, anyone could have missed it. You said you wanted a short cut.
A short cut yes, a quick death no. And what about the time with the bear?
What about the bear? I was just walking along, minding my own business when that thing jumped out at me. And I got a fantastic coat out of it. Isn't it majestic?
Yes, yes, very kingly, but if I remember correctly you were looking for the pantry at the time.
Well, it was dark, and I was really drunk. You can't hold that one against me

I am giggling like a maniac here. This is brilliant. The image of Thorin leading them off (a small) cliff will haunt me 'till the day I die. In a good way.
(also, I need to hear more about that time with Thranduil's bedroom *cough*)

I think we'd all like to know more about that time in Thranduil's bedroom, but unfortunately I don't actually know what happened there either.
And the (small) cliff line was actually my inspiration for writing this thing- I have a mental image of Thorin just striding off it majestically with everyone following behind.

I really had to laugh at the thought of Thorin turning the corner expecting to find food and voilà! A bear. XD Not to mention them walking off a cliff and well, basically, everything!

So glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully someone else will write a longer one at some point also since there can never be too much directionally challenged Thorin as far as I'm concerned.
has a right to alter the course of the journey at his so choosing..."
... or so the contract says. So what happens if Thorin insists he is the one who gets to chose the path but has a horrible sense of direction?
