Fic: We are Just Breakable Girls and Boys (Arthur/Gwen)

Yesterday's episode lit a plot bunny, and instead of studying for my exams I spent the past few hours writing this up. This is my first Arthur/Gwen (and Merlin, for that matter) fanfic, and I must admit that I'm very anxious about posting it. This is amazing. Your characterizations are spot on. Poor Gwen -- how like her to blame the whole thing on herself. And poor Arthur, too. I loved how you had him restraining his own feelings so he could be strong for Gwen. They should hire you to write for the show.

Thank you very much!! To be honest I always feel that characterization is one of my weakest abilities as a writer (in the Harry Potter fandom I usually wrote from the perspective of Hermione, one of the few characters with whom I easily related, so in that way I got a reprieve), and so I've spent a few weeks thinking about the characterization of both Arthur and Gwen. I can't tell you how relieved I am that you think I'm not completely off base. :-D

As for your last comment, I now have a ridiculous grin on my face. That was quite possibly the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me about my writing. What you said will continue to bring a smile to my face when I'm buried underneath books studying for my finals this week, so thank you!! :-)

That was a really lovely fic, and a lovely reaction post. I loved the exploration of feelings (because I'm willing to bet we won't see this next ep- Gwen being all upset.) Loved that Arthur offered the wrong words and that also he tells her that he tried everything to find her. Loved the little scene at the end too.

Yeah, one of the reasons why I was so inspired to write this was because it's something I want to see SO badly, but am fairly certain will never appear (because giving Gwen material not related to a guy would just be EVAL, clearly *eyeroll*).
