Worldcon's in London next year?!?!!

Shitshitshit need to find time/money to go!!!! Arrrrgh, I thought it was at least another couple of years before there'd be another one in Europe! Well, okay, nine years between 2005 and 2014... not that shocking an aberration from the ten-year pattern, really.

Fuck, where did the time go.

Oh my! Worldcon meets Finncon?! That sounds awesome... I may not be able to make it, because I'm probably gonna be poor, but if against all expectations I should still (or again) have some money to spare by 2015, I'd definitely love to go!

It's not a done deal yet -- the result of the site selection vote will be announced at this year's Worldcon in ten days or so -- but I've definitely got my fingers crossed.

Ich kann Dir nächste Woche auch mal das Programmheft vom letzten Worldcon, auf dem ich war - Glasgow 2005 - zeigen. Dann fällt die Entscheidung vielleicht etwas leichter. :-)

Aber hey, wolltest Du mich nicht sowieso mal besuchen? Wie wär's mit noch vor dem 30.9.? Dann wird die Worldcon-Membership nämlich teurer; im Moment gilt sozusagen noch Frühbucherrabatt... Willkommen wärst Du!

Membership rates go up pretty soon (end of September, I think), and the pound is pretty cheap at the moment, so if you can be reasonably certain, it might be a good idea to sign up now.

Not sure yet whether I'll be able to make it, unfortunately. My budget is quite tight at the moment. However, I'm optimistic - maybe I'll be courageous enough by the end of September.;)
