This is a nitpick! On Medic, sometimes his accent doesn't line up with what I usually think of as that particular accent. I was wondering, actually, if there's stuff from Valve on their accents, I mean other than obviously the game sounds. Does he feature in a comic or anything? If so, that canon trumps my thoughts on realism.

I've played all of ONE character with a pronounced and necessary accent before, and it was difficult to pin it down in a way to make it both easily readable and perfectly able to hear when you read it--I actually read all accented posts aloud. /idiotface Mostly how I work on accents is just playing something with the accent in the background while I'm tagging. It gives me an internal consistency.

I hope that doesn't seem way off base, because I'm hard in love with Medicface. <3 Would it be helpful if i looked back and gave a couple of examples, or does this make sense at all?

Actually, I'm just kind of...making his voice up as I go? Yeah, that's probably not the smartest thing to do. I sort of made a "replace w's with v and th's with z" formula, but I don't stick to it all of the time. As far as I know, there's not any written stuff from Valve aside from what he says in-game. My... I guess you could call them "accent translations" are mostly based on those. (I don't know any actual German beyond what I've looked up for this guy, so I just try to type things out phonetically, if that makes any sense?)

I'm a little overdue for some extra research anyway. I'm collaborating with the BLU Medic apper so our Medics are different enough, which means he's probably up for a canon update really soon. Like, really REALLY soon.

AND AS FOR ADMINISTRATOR, I'M GLAD YOU LIKE HER, I HARDLY EVER BRING HER OUT UNLESS SHE'S TROLLING DEAR_MUN. Which I should probably do more often.

Doing it phonetically is actually exactly what I do, but i try to get a feel for a legit accent first. I mean... Being from Texas, I've seen some Engineers that make me cry, for example, because they're writing him Deep South and not Texan. They are VERY distinct.

Just get some really silly movie with a German spy or something in it, that way it'd be entertaining, too. I always check Mel Brooks first. |D

And yes! I'm writing a canon update and I'll be checking it against his app so we have enough of a difference in personality between our Medics. It'd be boring to have two really similar ones. I'm pretty sure the BLU Spy is doing one too now that we've got a RED Spy joining up soon.

Oh, the big TF2 plot? I'm not entirely sure.
I think RED Spy just posted their app today, and nobody really worked out when it was happening in the "meeting post." (Though I imagine sometime next week, since Scout-mun is gone for the weekend, which is probably good, because that gives me more time to work, dur hurr.)
