Thank you so much for this sweet story of love and compassion. It's lovely to read a story focusing on the caregiver side of Methos. This is the man with enough heart to give it away to so many mates over such a long life time. A man who suffers the pain each time it is over, but is still willing to love again and again.
And Duncan is so in character to join in the ministry of love that is caring for someone at the end of their life.
You're welcome. I love the guys, but they've been around a very long time, and I know there's a different side we never see.
I actually reworked one paragraph - isn't that the way it always is? You see something you want to say differently. I don't know if you'll ever want to read it again, but I will be putting it up on AO3 (with the little edit).
Sweet and kind of sad. I had always wondered about Methos's past marriages. It's an interesting look at what Immortals have to do as they age, and reminds me of the early episode where Tessa wondered about Duncan not aging while she grew old.
Andrea saw the picture, didn't she? That's why she went to the effort to do a back ground check without saying anything to the facility's administrator and was okay with Methos spending so much time with Evelyn. She probably wouldn't have known exactly what was going on but there were enough clues there for her to have figured enough out.
The part in the original Highlander movie that cut me up the most was when Conner had to deal with his first wife dying of old age. It's always going to be a big consideration when an Immortal gets involved with a mortal.
It was good to see Methos given a chance to be there for someone he loved and to see how Ducan supported him.
Thank you. Yes, Connor's history is always going to be an important part of the Immortal story. After 5000 years, there is no way to know how many times this was his story. This time he had the chance to be there, and care for a woman he loved - and still loved.
He needed Duncan. Duncan was also aware of Connor's history. How much of that was a factor with his support?
