It's interesting to see this combination of genres on this smaller scale. Within the glance available, it seems to establish a diverge-from-canon AU (so that Rebecca lives), which is nevertheless parallel to canon (so that the relationships and personalities stay similar), as well as future-fic.

I appreciate the full circle of the reference to days in which exposure was largely a non-issue -- immortals could not only be taken for gods, but could sensibly take themselves for gods until they learned better -- from this future day when this choice will render it a non-issue again, if very differently.

Thank you for sharing.

Interesting glimpse. I suppose there's no good answers in a situation like that, although I'm not entirely sure I understand what the situation is exactly. I echo elistaire - it's very good to see Rebecca! And Methos doing his best, pulling strings in the background.

Thank you!

Other than near-future with space-travel and a good deal of risk of discovery, I hadn't had any concrete thoughts on the exact situation. Probably there have been near-misses for Rebecca and Methos (and others) about being outed. Probably there have been one or two Immortals outed as being entirely too long-lived, without anyone having connected the dots yet.

Speculating about what will happen when the mortal world learns of Immortals is one of my favorite diversions when it comes to Highlander. I can so see Rebecca being the one who would instigate that choice-which is interesting, because it wouldn't have occurred to me.

I tend to see the Immortals who can still remember when they could be gods and god-kings as the most likely to initiate disclosure when it becomes extremely difficult to hide (on more than an individual basis). Part of the choice of Rebecca was that I didn't want to do Methos as the instigator, and part because it would make it harder to guess who wrote it.

I'm glad you liked it!

Rebecca! Thank you for making it Rebecca. This may be short, but it's so dense with ideas and plot. Speculating about immortal disclosure is something I love to ponder. Of course Methos would be making decisions for Mac, and for all of them. But really, there's no one more qualified.

Amanda said you suggested kidnapping him and putting him on a ship with no means of disengaging the auto-pilot.

hahahaha! Perfect :)
