Oh. Oh oh ohhh.

Subtle, beautiful, layered and with the bitter, bitter edge that I have come to realize just *makes* Highlander for me.

Plus, I can *see* it, with the kind of editing and focus and framing that the show used, the cutting and the way the cold always comes right out of the screen, and the warmth does too.

I only *wish* I could write this well.

Shortlist of the really good writers, this one.

A treat in all ways, but it's this part that made me grin so hard I thought I might hurt something:

As if he needed warning away from a Challenge magnet like MacLeod. As if he were looking for a fight, a cause, a damned deluded White Knight. With a beautiful blonde woman in his bed and Amanda beating his borders and Darius measuring him for martyrdom. Why state the obvious? Why... "Is this supposed to be a lure? Am I truly a child?"
