Thank you. This is what happens when you run out of time and are desperate for a trope to write. :D

Their future wasn't certain, but for the moment they had this much: warmth and companionship and a friend to trust their backs to in the night. It was more than Methos had known for most of his long life. He closed his eyes.
*sighs happily*

Very intense, and I liked the contrast between the seriousness of their situation and their inevitable snarking back and forth. I was worried that they were going to be found, so I breathed a sigh of relief when they were rescued. And there were so many quietly intense and warm moments, like the one keerawa quoted - very nice.

Thank you so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it. One of these days, I will read those Lord John Grey books and you'll finally get that crossover I keep wishing I could write for you!

Thank you! Yes. There could definitely be a much longer story here, but time did not permit. Maybe later this year.

Just now catching up! I enjoyed reading your "The Midnight Clear;" thank you for sharing it. For a slightly different reader experience than a couple of the comments above shared, the size and shape felt right to me -- that is, the fuzzing off at the margins didn't feel like missing content to me, but like focus on a single spot in a larger world.

Thank you-I appreciate your comments more than I can say! I'm really glad that this felt like a complete story unto itself. :) I do think it could exist as part of a larger story, but it's great to hear that it was satisfying in and of itself. Thank you so much for reading.
