Oh Pat It *was* you! I loved this story so much, I can't tell you. It was just the words of it - the dialogue was so spot on, and the whole thing worked together so well. I keep thinking about it in odd moments and grinning away to myself!

- and while I'm thanking people, unovis_lj and hafital were both absolutely brilliant at What Killa Likes (you have no idea of the depth of my panic!) and I'm so grateful. I don't think the thing would have got started at all without them. And unovis_lj did a stunning, sterling job on beta point duty, tenses and colons and pointing out that I had too many boys and not enough men...

But thank you so much again for hlh_shortcts, amand_r. Such a superb thing to write for.

It's lovely to be not alone in the ability to (very slightly, here) confuse in comments! Although to be honest, you might not have been worried, but I jolly well was! Seriously, thank you - it wasn't just the quoshing of Plan A, but the incredibly helpful discussion about why - I really, really appreciated that.
