Criminy! That was scrumptious and frigtening at the same time. hah. Um, I shall be wary of truffles, no matter how tasty.

There is not a word wasted, not a sentence out of place. I marvel at the skill displayed. Excellent.

Thank you. I always found truffles a little scary. I think the first time I read about them was in a Robert Benchley's essay, "Truffle Poisoning."

That was beautiful and intricately layered, like a sumptuous meal. I loved it - and I assume that the truffles were the result of Simon's Quickening?

Yes. I refined the story a little, to make it clearer -- putting it up on my LJ or archives.
Thanks, I'm happy you liked it.

Rich. Complex. Dangerously addicting.

Ooooh, this is gorgeous. I love the wonderfully quirky truffles-from-Quickenings premise and the myriad directions it could lead (imagine how different the humor would be if this story starred Fitz!), and I love the dark, decadent direction you chose to take it in.

Fitz is devious and funny and different from Methos in both areas. I remember the episode where Fitz was a chef when I wrote this. And now I wonder about whether the Immortal killed would affect the taste and aroma of the truffles. Then again, it could be just a myth...
