Great Stories. Loved them both.

I liked the second story, with near misses and Joe's final boggling incredulity. The affection for Joe is sweet.

But seriously, a first edition of the Iliad ...

That line made me laugh, because young soldier Joe would have had to have awfully good language training back in his old parish to handle the ancient Greek. And the papyrus would have been bulky. So...then I get to wonder who did do the first edition English translation? An unnamed monk who hated water?

Maybe it was the Modern Library edition.

That must have been some used book store, too - really, it's too silly to take apart. Chapman's 1598-1611 translation into English is the acknowledged "first," though it came out serially in a newspaper before a version was published independently.

all five were great. bravo!

#1 - oh god, Methos would definately use that against Joe - "I can remember when you were yea high to a grasshopper, Joe" with a grin.

#2 - Remus. hm
(interesting)

#3 - its interesting and nice to see what Watchers do in their off-time besides play cards...and the theorizing is fun.

#4 - "that bad?" *chuckles* that would've been interesting. :)

the last line of #5 puzzles me - was part of it meant to be a thought?

Amy/Methos is a pairing I never thought of or about...but now it's completely believable (I've bought into its plausibility)

I'm assuming they're adopting.

bravo!

I'm finding it believable, too - esp. if they're adopting. :-)
Really nice stuff.

Oh, yes, you're right, that's another very sensible option! :-)

Oh these are fun :0). Joe finally gets to meet Methos... they should all be canon.
