I also think this means that all the stories will be posted at once, so we won't have staggered reveals

One thing that might work is for people to post their stories as a draft, then publish them on an assigned day? (Choose Preview when you upload your story, then click Save Without Posting.)

TBH, I'm not that stropped that they will all go live on the same day. The stories will still be concentrated in a collection, so it will be easy for people to get to them all.

Purimfest does staggered reveals, but I don't know how they do it, I just know it can be done.

I'm not sure if this is how Purimgifts does it, but I've participated in a couple of fests with staggered reveals, and the way they do it is by using moderated posting, and releasing fics a few at a time from the moderation queue.

I'm not sure if that could be combined with anonymous posting (the staggered fests in which I've participated weren't anon) but it seems like it would totally work, as long as the anonymous box was checked.

People should be careful with that "Moderated" setting, or everything will go live outside the collection until the moderator approve it into the collection. I learned that the first year that we moved FKFicFest to the AO3.

Otherwise, yes, it works fine. I'd strongly recommend a test run with a dummy story to avoid accidental reveals, though!

Oh, thank you! Sorry to give misleading info; apparently I was mistaken about what was going on in the other fest I was thinking of. Also, I had no idea the revealed/unrevealed settings could be set individually on each story -- that's good to know!

That is intriguing! I selected moderated because it sounded like I had more control against accidental reveals! Perhaps you could post a test doc for me so that I can see how it works? We'll just erase it after?
