I'm pretty new to internet fandom, which is kind of sad considering I've been a big huge internet geek for a long time. I remember when 28.8 modems came out, and how fast everyone thought that was. "Wow, you can get 2k per second! Wow ( Read more... )

OTP is One True Pairing. Like, Buffy can only find true love with Angel. Or Spike. Or Xander. Or Faith. Or Starbuck. Or Apollo. Or Dominic Monaghan. Whatever way your fandom requires. I made lots of OTP icons, even a Spike/Angel/Xander "School Hard" OT3 icon. I don't feel OTP, I just think it's funny.

The entire concept of OT3 is just cracking me up. I am having so much fun just sitting here, alone in my office, thinking up "Oh, their threesome was meant to be! Except they needed a bigger bed! Woe is the queen-size bed which just could not hold all their writhing limbs, and they fell, and bonk-ed their heads on the nightstand, verily, it was love."

There's a really good one, that someone directed me to. Well, a dictionary that has acronyms as well as other fandom terms. Lemme see if I can find it.

OTP, btw, is One True Pairing. (Like Xander/Faith, apparently, with me.) OOP always makes me think "Out of Print," from my (long ago) days searching the campus bookstore for texts. Not sure what it means, actually.

Glad to pass on the fandom-newbie help! I recently looked in here and noticed they'd added some stuff based on LJ slang. It's important to know when one should ::huggle:: and when one should ::glomp::

Yes, that's very important to know, as both of those sound like onomotopeas referring to bodily secretions, and I don't want to do that wrong. Could be dangerous.
