In this case, the angst is what made it good. It's not just like those one with the fairy tale endings. While I really like those, this was good on a completely different level.

I'm a little sad that they didn't end up together! T.T But I like how you mapped it out - the timeline. The contrast, the compromise. How Shige eased into Yamapi's pace. And how he started to fall into step with how Yamapi worked. How Yamapi, in turn, adjusted to how Shige did things. The compromise. Just a;sdlfkjasldfjl Oh Nikki. Then the last paragraph just... T.T a;kdfjla;sjdflk I really liked it.

That said, I. I really liked the end, despite the two not ending up together. It was something different, and there was something real about it.

Sqeex (do you remember that?), this was so good. And sad. (poor shige. it's ok! i will comfort him.) And GOOD.

dknq;leknfsodujflwkem no really. It was sad the way the end of stardust is sad. like, you ache a little bit for them because things can't be perfect. that's a good way to put it. you ache a little bit.
WHICH IS A SIGN OF GOOD WRITING! anyone can write "awww it's so cute!" but when your body has a response to the work, it's good stuff.
