I've seen it done that way before. I might dust off mIRC and type up a small script for it, although I might need a few reminders on how to do it.

Also, I'm guessing this setting is kind of medieval-ish, so in leiu of my more technological characters I'm going to opt to play a wizard. Is that okay?

Yah, that's fine. Like I'd told meilleurekimiko, just about anything will be okay unless I find it to be something that can interfere with how I plan to let it all play out, and there are only a few things out there that really would.

I'd more or less like to go into it without much advance knowledge, like no more than my character should know already. Which is basically encompassed by the information already out there.
