You know, I'm curious about what it is you do for work. You sound like a publisher of some sort. What is it you do?

I work for one of the really large educational publishing companies, specifically in the higher education group's Business and Economics company, in the fascinating discipline known as "Operations and Decisions Sciences ( ... )

Can I send you my manuscript?

no, really.

Yes, please send. I will have no means to publish this manuscript (or, sadly, my own), as I'm thinking it's probably not related to business statistics or operations management (and if it is, then we're not the braintwins I thought we were). But I do love the reading and working with actual stories.

I'm sure you have Connections. Heck, just find me an agent. I'll marry you. Oh, wait, already doing that. Okay, I'll let you ... have Liebgott four days out of the week.

I assure you, as soon as Super-Agent of the Universe has joined the Cynthia and Debbie Rule the World via Their Book party, I will pimp you hard.

Yay safe arrival! Boo no constant, instant internet!

Hope you have good dinners and fun and get to play on the beach a bit.

*hugs* on the stupid lamps, the schmoozing with strangers (ick!) and the makeup (double ick - another reason I need to avoid the real/professional world at all costs. I am CLUELESS).

Have lots of fun in between the work!

Dinner turned out to be much less stranger infested than I'd anticipated. Both fun authors were there, singing my praises (which never sucks). Make up worked out for me, though I'm still annoyed by how much nicer I look when I take half an hour to give a shit about it.

Sunday is all about the beach.

Hope your day was an improvement over yesterday, which was an improvement over Tuesday.

*hugs back*

Week did end on a vaguely improved note. Not great, but better. Helps that Friday contains no classes that I hate.

Yay less stranger infested and people announcing how awesome you are!

I hear LA is currently being washed out to sea. I hope either you aren't getting rained on too badly or at least it clears up for your Sunday beach outing.

It has been simply dumping down rain all day. However, reports claim that it will clear up by Sunday. I choose to believe them for the moment, as I am dead set on getting out to the beach and doing some serious wading..

Glad your week has taken a slight upturn. Having no hateful classes is good.

Take care of yourself this weekend. Apply shovel-bearing Joel liberally.

I have the exact same feeling about hotel lamps. It always takes me a good ten minutes or so to figure out all the damn switches and stuff. But hey, at least you have some sort of internet connection. Having read the description what your job is, I have a newfound respect for you.

Me, I can never deal with people on a daily basis that way. Which probably explains my current status as an unemployed art-school graduate. :p

Hope your kittehs will remain safe and well until you return.

Dealing with people is often what I dislike most about my job. Like on Tuesday of Temper Tantrum. But most of the time it's not nearly as bad as my whinging makes out. I play weekly games of "Jobs that Suck Worse than Mine" to keep things in perspective. There are many, many jobs that suck worse.
