So rather than detail my mind-numbingly dull week at work or moan about various moanables, I opt to describe the lovely birthday present my friend made for me.

The snowglobe itself is not very large to my eye. The actual water-holding part of it is maybe four inches tall, ovalish--like an egg stretched at the top--and about two and a half inches wide at its widest point. The base of it has a plug like a piggy bank. I think she got the snow filler from a KLUTZ kit on making snowglobes. Seems like a craft/hobby shop would have the parts.
Then she just put the model together. It was one of the metal paint-it-yourself models sold at hobby and gaming stores--most of the ones I've seen are of the right size to work--polished it (because she couldn't deal with doing the detail painting), and glued it and the tree sturdily to the base/plug. Filled thing with water and snowflakes, and called it done.
