In which I am conflicted, maudlin, and frustrated

So. Hi. I haven't posted in an age. Things have been nuts here since, like, forever, and it's only getting nutsier.

Here's a brief recap of me since July. ( nitty-gritties )

*hugs*

I wish I wasn't 1000 miles away because I would be there with tape and boxes and newspaper and cookies and such. I hope it goes smoothly and poo on having to deal with everything all on your own with the physical labor and emotional craziness.

(82 bookw WTF? please tell me most of them are books designed to be read by 6 year olds)

*clings* I really wish you weren't 1000 miles away, too :-)

I made some pretty good progress last night. Still have about half my clothes to deal with--the half that won't just go into wardrobe boxes tomorrow--and the dishes and glasses. Need to make another UHaul run for the glasses.

(82 books! It's Young Adult Lit, so they are definitely faster reads than average, but sadly not made to be read by 6-year-olds. Ugh.)

If I had known you were gonna be moving, I totally would have helped pack your crap while I was there. And if I was there now? We would have the most violent, angsty SPN epis IN HISTORY on in the background while I made you chilli spaghetti and simultaneously packed boxes with practiced flair.

I have moved approximately eighteen times in the last fifteen years. At this point, I merely LOOK at cardboard boxes and they pack themselves. The things I could teach you, Padawan. *shakes head sadly*

I am there in spirit, my love. Soon this madness will be behind you. Take heart.

You're kind to offer your expertise and labor, but it was way too early for me to have started packing back when you were here. Should have gotten on Marc's case back in May, when I was living there and could have motivated him without nagging from afar. Ah well.

My realtor says she'll have the place listed a week from Monday! Cleaners arrive Tuesday morning, and the painter will start then, too, and be finished by the end of the week. Then we'll spend the weekend staging the place.

Thank you for the good vibes! Keep 'em coming, if you please.

There's always a part that is always said when a door closes, even when the door opening ahead is even more awesome, so it all makes sense! Yei you! It's so good to hear things have been awesome!

Hugs to you!

My sympathies on the whole 'packing/moving' thing - the last time I did it was nearly 20 years ago when I bought this place and I swore that I'd never do it again no matter how much I might hate my new place (I don't hate it btw).

I have to admit I laughed when I read how you'd given Marc a what-to-do-and-when list - I wish somebody would give me one of those on a daily basis :-)

Anyway, good luck with it all - I'm sure it'll all be worth it

I'd like to say I could swear I'd never move again, but I think I've got at least one more in me. Marc and I are hoping to find a tiny house somewhere and achieve our new dream of sharing property only with people we're either related or married to. *fingers crossed*

I am the QUEEN of lists these days. And, in my defense, Marc asked for them. And then checked, like, one item off. I got a voicemail from him last night saying he'd spent several hours moving stuff around at his place and had a "newfound appreciation" for what I've been doing the last few days... or [he corrected] weeks.

Thanks for the good luck wishes!

Oh I feel your pain on the moving. It can be so unsettling and stressful. Hang in there, sweetie.

I hope things go smoothly and sounds like you've had some great times and I hope for more of that to come =)

*blows kisses*

Thank you, thank you! I am hopeful that the good times will balance out the stress and displacement.

*gracefully catches kisses, sends some back to you*
