You won't even know I'm gone...

Yeah, I'm so detatched from my LJ anymore that I totally forgot that tonight is the last time I'll be able to post from home for a couple of weeks. And that would be because I am going on vacation, thank whatever powers influence this universe.

So. Since ramalama reminded me, yes, vacation is for yay! It should be a little bit crazy what with the ( Read more... )

Yay for vacation! Shall we expect a travel-louge like the last one we got (of your Yellowstone adventure)?

Oh, and my friend peonyll8 is completely obsessed with Dr. Who, if you're looking for more fans. I have this feeling that I will be forcibly shown all of the seasons-especially the one with David Tennent-next time I am home for awhile. :)

Have a fun vacation!

I will do my best to make another travelogue post when I get back. I took so many pictures last year and didn't post any of them. Shame! But with everyone's put together, there were close to a thousand and that was just overwhelming.

Oh, thanks for the friend-rec! I've been watching a lot of comms, but don't have many Who friends other than cunien. Just relax and enjoy the forced viewing of Doctor Who, for it is just wonderful. Tennant is wonderful, and just the cutest thing allowed onscreen since the debut of those four hobbits and their pet elf. I do have deep abiding love for Christopher Eccleston, though I understand the whippersnappers in the audience find him slightly old ;-)

You MUST take pictures of Normandy for us. And if you drop by the Allied cemetary and find any Easy boys PLEASE take some snapshots with them.

Pictures will certainly be taken, but will likely heavily feature small children who are related to me. Also, be advised that other than a day trip to the beach, we're going to be well inland this time. My sister used to live about 20 minutes from all the big beaches, but they're in the interior now.

Lascaux is great-its the copy version as you can't go down the original anymore as the CO2 was fogging it all up. We went on an English speaking tour, taken by a Frenchman who obviously adored the caves. At one point he turned off all the lights and said "now I will show you what the paintings looked like for Cro-Magnon man when he painted them". He then turned on his lighter and held it up. The flickering made the paintings seem to move-it was wonderful! We're going to the Dordogne at the end of Aug-I think we will have to go again!

That's what I'd heard--that you can't get into the original caves anymore, but that the pretend ones are still incredibly cool. Can't wait!
