All around a very satisfactory BoB gueststint: Not evil, no ill-advised facial hair (Bull! Shave the 'stache!), not blown into ittybitty chunks and/or slivers, and not a murder or child molester. Go team Settle!
Was there ugly facial hair on the happy-go-lucky BDSM killers? He was a murderer, right? I mean this IS Fox's answer to a procedural, right? (hates cop shows ESPECIALLY procedurals)
There was NOT any ugly facial hair!! He was just a tiny bit scruffy. And yes, he and his wife appear to have bound, tortured, drugged and ultimately overdosed the victim. And yes again, this is FOX's new procedural... It's really bad. Cold, untouchable female scientist -- forensic anthropologist -- works with cocky FBI agent (Angel) to Fight Crime. I had high hopes about it, but it's really bad. Worse writing even than Medical Investigation.
The Vortex is the force that pulls all the actors from all our fandoms together, swooshes them around, and distributes them, thereby connecting all fandoms into One True Fandom. Beyond the obvious goal of making fangirls everywhere squee loudly, it has as a primary (but sekrit) purpose of raising a special force -- the Red-Hot Alien Resistance -- to battle the coming End Times.
1) Lost. The Island is a hotbed of Vortex activity. 2) The Faculty. Herrington High was Ground Zero for the alien invasion. 3) Party of Five. The first signs were when the Salinger parents died mysteriously.
Fortunately, two Companies have been formed -- the Company of the Ring and the Company of the E -- and together we shall strive against the alien zombie Mordor Dharma Nazis.
Where the vampires and Mulder fit into all this, I know not.
It was very very bad, and Ross only had one speaking scene, though he did glower a lot in later courtroom scenes. I have saved the tape of the show up through his speaking scene and will share with you at a later date.
Must say that Settle on SVU was very very satisfying. Much more screentime for him, and no ookiness over him being a psychokiller and stuff.
I think the real thing to celebrate here is that neither of them got blown up or had traumatizing facial hair.
I have to admit I'm almost sadder about missing Settle on SVU - it's a better show - him and Keller (Elliot on SVU) woulda killed me dead and, well, yeah.
YAY NO BLOWING UP! They're getting better. But you know if it were Skip it woulda been all different.
Go me indeed. Halfway through one of them exclaimed "that's the guy from New Kids on the Block!" and I laughed. But they (at least the one who isn't jetlagged) seem hooked enough to want more. And the love for Ray is tangible. It's been a while since I watched much - I'd forgotten how much Joel breaks my heart, and how amazing his smiles are.

Of course the first episode of that show nearly killed me in it's badness and "science"
And I was instead teaching my roommates about the wonders of Boomtown.
