Made To Be Broken
You know the rules. Those eyes; those hellish eyes condemning him like they have the right, like they have the fucking right. You can’t kill him.
He stares through the looking glass, through time as it stretches between the leaves, and the heavy air catches in his lungs as he pants, gasps for breath; forever hunted, haunted. Never free.
You’re right. I can’t.
He smiles, the curl of those lips like a breath in the abyss, the flash of his eyes like the devil himself.
He’s not allowed to make that choice. That doesn’t mean he can’t make another.
But I can make him wish he were dead.
