Salvation
He slashes through the jungle like the devil himself is behind him, salivating over his soul. He doesn’t understand what he fears; he is tainted. He is weak. His redemption still hangs in the balance, and while he’s not sure what demon would want a spirit as black as his own, he’s sure of the fact that he’s not ready to find out, just yet.
His heart beats like a drum, the fires of the end-times, his breath like a sword from his mouth, blood on his tongue.
He turns, stares into darkness; into death.
“Salvation is found in no one else...”
