Lost Drabble Challenge 2010:
Quick Fire Drabble Challenge. Spoilers through 6.03 - What Kate Does.
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot.
Author’s Notes: Quick Fire, #7: It's probably kind of wrong to love these two together as much as I do.
No Slower, No Lighter
She gets it, of course. She understands. To go back means to lose this. To go back means that this can never be.
It hurts, sore when she breathes; stretches and refuses to retract as her heart flutters beneath his touch, against the brush of his lips. She’s never known what it means to be wanted. She’s never known what it could be like, to be loved.
His hands don’t feel different, his kisses no slower, no lighter; they haven’t changed yet. They’re still them, together. Still family.
We don’t have to leave, he whispers, and she can taste the way he means it.
That’s all she wants.
