Situating
It’s a process of situating, really, that leads them from one point to the next. First his books. Then her shoes at the door. She picks the flowers, and soon enough, he picks up on the trend; she likes yellow. He brings the wine, and she understands from his selections what it is he wants for dinner, even if he never says it. She spends hours under the shower after working in the garage; he starts to shower in the morning, instead of at night, because she can’t sleep full of grease.
He fits against her sleeping form, and she to his, and the sheets fall between; situating.
