Lost Drabble Challenge 2010. Spoilers through 6.03 - What Kate Does.
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot.
Author’s Notes: My first drabble for the 2010 challenge... and the beginning of what quickly became, and is still, something of an addiction.
Crackle
The shadows, the ether seeps, and it’s more than he would ever ask for, hope for; a man like him, in the face of the great and endless nothing, can be only ever be humbled, grateful.
He breathes, and his lungs stretch hard, sore -- dig into his ribs; and it’s an afterthought that picks up the way the darkness, the blackness; the way the void shifts and molds around him. With him. In him.
Something crackles, and when the light comes, it’s so small -- a single shock of static in the night. But it shows him the world.
He bolts upright, and gasps hard.
Sayid Jarrah is dead.
