This is wonderful. Your prose is a thing of beauty, even when the emotions are pain and despair. The cadence of it is beautiful, making me read most of it aloud for the feel of it. I will be going back to read the previous section, and eagerly looking for more from you.

One typo:
To feel heavy to the point where is crushes his lungs and drags him back to waking. is=it

Thank you ever so much, really and truly. I am absolutely thrilled that you so enjoyed this, particularly the cadence of it - that was generally the point (well, my point in terms of what I wanted to work on in the writing) of doing a follow-up to this, as an exercise in altered flow; so that you enjoyed it makes me extremely happy :)

And thank you for pointing out the typo! I am, at present, without a Trek beta, and I was proofreading it myself around 2 AM... so I appreciate the assistance.
