Phil's voice is spot on. His restraint even in the face of the destruction of something so valuable to him is just so authentic and feels just like Phil. And the blood that is too red, too wet, totally unnatural, seals the deal. You would think Tony and Steve, both more than familiar with blood would have caught that, but they were already emotionally compromised and neither of them would know that Fury lies. Not yet.

And then you go and have it be Clint (my heart!) as the one who found #41 for Phil. <3

I love that paragraph, how it tells so much about their relationship!

I know I've told you, but I'll tell you again. This is perfect and wonderful and makes me so happy!

I love this. I absolutely adore this.

Its the fic I've wanted to write but didn't have any ideas for. I've wanted to see Phil's reaction to his cards because he is sooo still around to react. The whole thing was just written beautifully and your characters are spot on.

And of course Phil calls Pepper by her real first name. Perfection :)

But, yeah. Who really does bleed that colour? :D

Perfect touch that Clint got him No. 41 and that Fury is trying to replace the set. Ya know, Nick, despite all your faults, you're a pretty good guy underneath all that bluster and black leather. ;)

I love this. My first thought was it was a setup by Fury to get everyone's butts in action. So glad someone agrees. Great job. I love how subtle the relationship is between Phill and Clint.

Ohhhhhhhhhh... I love this. I felt for Coulson when he saw the cards, because I got that same gut-wrench! in the movie.
Oh, and that he had invested so much of himself in the cards too, y'know, and that Clint was the one to get #41 for him. *swoony-wibble*

Loved this. It felt so very true to what I think Phil's character was like.
