Actually, I have no problem with people asking what his religion is.
My problem is that it's been asked, answered, demonstrated, historically verified, and consistently shown to be a single answer, and people STILL deny and challenge it.
Of course they do. I've actually heard the argument that because someone, somewhere, heard about a Muslim who claimed to be Christian, it necessarily follows that Obama is doing the same.
This, starting around the 18-second mark, really articulates well why I'd rather it not even be brought up.
Who cares whether he lights a menorah, fasts on Ramadan, or take the Eucharist? Hell, who really gives a damn if he acknowledges any deity at all?
Fine, let's say that tomorrow, Barack Obama comes out and tells the world, "Okay, fine. You got me. There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet." Let's say he really is a Muslim, and has just been claiming to be a Christian for political purposes.
This would make a difference...how, exactly? The wet dreams of some parties notwithstanding, he won't suddenly cease to be President. The election will not un-happen.
And yes, I'll say it: There'll still be a Black man in the White House.
