*makes a quite pleased face, grinning* Oh, good! Do you need to make frosting? I can help with that. *would so eat half the frosting before it made it anywhere near the cake*

I hope he'll appreciate your baking exercises. *chuckles and gets a cup of tea for Six before sitting down*

I know he will. *grins* He's quite the fan of food himself.

*thanks Evelyn for the tea* Well, everyone's a fan of this cake. *takes a bite and makes a pleased sound* Excellent. *teasingly to Evelyn* Sometimes I think it's the only reason I keep you around.

Ooh, watch what you're saying, Doctor, or I'll ask that pleasant young fellow in the cricket outfit if he has room in his TARDIS for me and my cake. *smirks*

*incredulous* You wouldn't.

*shrugs, teasingly* Well, if I'm not appreciated here... He was very polite and helpful.

Well. Perhaps you should, then. *smirks, knowing she's just teasing*

*smirks right back* Perhaps I will. Right after I've finished my cake. I can't leave the poor Captain all alone with you, after all. *smiles at Jack*

((Night!))

*laughs* I don't trust him not to bore with a lecture on the history of chocolate cake.

*takes a slice of cake and smiles* Seems it might at least be a very delicious history. At least at first.

Oh, it is! The word 'cake' is from the Old Norse kaka, which sounds much worse than it was. Of course it wasn't actually cake as we know it now 'till much later...the 20th century European and North American influence created this sort of confectionery, which is why there's not an exact word for it in any other Earth language but English! *smile* Did you know Marie Antoinette never actually said 'let them eat cake'? I asked her myself. Charming girl. A pity, really.

((I think I love you.))

*rolls her eyes* You're such a fountain of knowledge, Doctor.

And I do so rarely get to share that knowledge. *takes a sip of his tea and grins at her*

*chuckles* Oh yes, only whenever you manage to find an excuse for it. *takes a bite of the cake*
