Oh, it is! The word 'cake' is from the Old Norse kaka, which sounds much worse than it was. Of course it wasn't actually cake as we know it now 'till much later...the 20th century European and North American influence created this sort of confectionery, which is why there's not an exact word for it in any other Earth language but English! *smile* Did you know Marie Antoinette never actually said 'let them eat cake'? I asked her myself. Charming girl. A pity, really.
