So... I'm wandering through the children's non-fiction in the lovely bookstore, Frugal Muse, and what do I find? A small pink and blue book that is titled, The History of England by Jane Austen.

Lady Jane Gray, who tho' inferior to her lovely Cousin the Queen of Scots, was yet an amiable young woman & famous for reading Greek while other people were hunting.

She doesn't have a very good opinion of Elizabeth, does she?

I think she's being sarcastic. Most history books worship Elizabeth while bashing Mari. Austen does the opposite.

Really? I notice the opposite. I was reading Antonia Fraser's biography of Mary, and there's not a single thing that went wrong in her life that she didn't blame on either a.) the men in her life, or b.) Elizabeth. And let's not even get started on Alison Weir . . .
