I love that book. I've always the embroidery was so pretty. How it must of looked when it was new.
Simon Schuma once said that Elizabeth was the Mozart of language. She spoke six or seven (can't quite remember). She learned most of them as child.
Katherine Parr was quite active in religion. She strongly stressed Bible reading, which went against the Church who believed personal study of the entirety of the scriptures would cause heresy.
She published two books, "Prayers and Meditations" in 1545 and "Lamentations of a Sinner" in 1547.
Elizabeth knew this book of prayers was a gift Katherine would appreciate.
I really like Katherine Parr. I've always thought she was a wise woman with strong morals and character.
