House was still in the clinic, not-hiding from the party and Jack and whatever, so part of him was actually happy to see someone come in, if only for the distraction.

The young man carrying the bundle of girl looked familiar, and it took House a second to recognize him - oh. Bodyswitched Jack. Great, just what he wanted to be reminded of right now.

"Lay her down on the bed," he said, getting up and limping over to them. "What's wrong with her?"

Too distracted to notice any strange looks of recognition, and struggling a bit to carry Mimi carefully, I looked up at the doctor in hope and worry. "I don't know. There is a fever, and when I called to her, she would not wake."

Once she was down on the bed, House laid the back of his hand to her forehead. She was burning up. "Go over to the sink," he said to the boy, "and wet a washcloth with cold water and bring it back to me."

He patted her cheek gently. "Can you hear me? It's time to wake up now."
