Seeing as this is the first moment in what feels like decades that both my consistently unreliable internet and livejournal are actually working I'll throw in a quick post.

Tomorrow is really the beginning of two weeks of fun- oh no wait, I'll be at home revising. That's right, two whole weeks of clawing through textbooks and doing past papers... ( Read more... )

An Inspector Calls is my absolute favourite play after Journey's End. I suppose it's much easier to enjoy when it's not compulsory, though. That being said, I only know of it because I had to do it at GCSE for coursework. Same with War of the Worlds, actually and I think that's a cracker too.

Sometimes I worry I am the only person that falls absolutely in love with their English set texts; I think I've grown to love all of them and read more by the author for every one since GCSE. With the exception of Ian McEwan's On Chesil Beach. I hated that.

P.S. I totally read a damn good read in Benedict Cumberbatch's voice because of the whole a damn good shag thing from HIGNFY. And now I've just realised that it says damn it's a good read not what I previously thought. God, I'm tired.

I think I've been pretty lucky with the texts we've been given; I absolutely lovelovelove Pride and Prejudice, and An Inspector Calls, plus the war poetry is actually pretty damn good.

PS. I just had to re-watch that little bit from HIGNFY because I couldn't get him out of my head. Damn you.
