I guess I have my New Year's Resolution.
Get the damn Klingon costume back together.
This year features two conventions(Furry Fiesta and TwiCon) I want to hit, just for the sake of pulling out the Klingon outfit and (though Furry Fiesta might be out, since it's just a few weeks after switch stores) I've always had the most fun showing up at cons where I'm probably the only Klingon in attendance.
I have most of the elements still sitting in my closet, but a headpeice remians the most elusive. I tried last year to remake my usual forehead fishbone (a small rubber appliance instead of the full ridge) but the latex I used wouldn't set right and it ended up being useless. Thankfully, the guys at Backyard FX have shown me a technique for solving that little problem.
So, using this technique, I might be able to do a proper ridge instead of my little appliance. They reccomend adding some foam under the mask to give it some substance, I might use some crayola model magic instead.
