So.
Seymour wants to marry Yuna.
And that means-
You know, that means Tidus right now is going to stab a fiend a few times.
A couple of fiends.
A flock of fiends?
Whatever.
Stabbing now. Thinking later.
The thing is, later comes.
So, yeah, okay. He has to think about this. Or, well, he keeps trying not to think about it, and that's…not working so well. And Auron is giving him Deliberate Looks that Tidus is pretty sure means the man thinks he's being an idiot.
So okay, thinking about this. And the thing is-
The thing is he can't get this idea, this Seymour wants to marry Yuna sentence out of his head, but he doesn't know what it is he does think beyond that.
And part of him just can't figure out that marriage is something Yuna could do. She's young. His age, anyway, and he can't imagine being married. He had more than one nightmare-daymare-whatever with fans in Zanarkand going over the top and in that direction.
Which he guess means he doesn't want to marry Yuna, which. Yeah. That's true. That's really true, and Tidus shudders a little out of the blue, making Kimahri glance at him and breathe air in a way Tidus is pretty sure is his version of a snort.
And if he doesn't want to marry Yuna then-well, if she wants to, right, then he shouldn't be upset at the idea of Seymour marrying her. He shouldn't.
Except he kinda is. He's kinda really upset, or maybe angry, when he thinks about that. Because Seymour doesn't love her, can't love her, slime like him doesn't know how to love, and even if he did--even if he did, Yuna doesn't love Seymour.
Tidus thinks.
Is pretty sure.
Hopes, anyway, but he does think it's true. Maybe she thinks he's handsome, and powerful, and a good follower of Yevon and knows how to bow at the right times and stuff, but that doesn't mean she loves him. And she shouldn't. Because he's…blue. Yeah. Blue.
Even in his head Tidus realizes that sounds lame.
But Seymour's not right for her, and Tidus thinks that he is.
…Tidus wasn't entirely admitting to himself that he thought that.
But apparently he does. Think that, and about ways he can make Yuna laugh, and how funny she was when she tried to whistle, and how she really does care about people, and-

Auron, Tidus thinks, and mentally facepalms, might be right to think he's an idiot.
