There was a little picture of a hammer next to that, followed by an exclamation mark.

I dunno. It's like something in my head has shaken loose, or perhaps I had a head full of rubbish that looked like a really bad go at Tetris, and an inspired bout of button-jabbing has slid a selection of 5x1 blocks into the depths of the mess and made it all collapse away under its own weight ( Read more... )

I'm still here, paying attention. Owing to reading the non-mobile site on a mobile, I've often read a good chunk of post before I scroll down far enough to work out who posted it.

You remain one of the few people whose writing is so instantly recognisable that this is never a problem :)

The York Tap, which was splendid but a bit loud. The Maltings, which was jolly good. Trembling Madness, which had far too many nice beers.

I actually found the Sarah Beeney series 'Help, My House Is Falling Down!' to be quite reassuring. It seemed no matter how serious the problem it was generally fixable, sometimes on the insurance. And cracks aren't as worrying as you might think (unless you can get your hand in them, that is...)

I couldn't watch it.

There are a set of telly-things that just leave me cold. That, self-righteous-o-vision like 'bloody immigrants coming over here and wanting food in exchange for work like bastards' or 'look at these fat people they can't help themselves' and poking-fun-at-the-afflicted like 'look at these people with a house full of things, it's cheaper than a visit to the bedlam!'
