My name is not Harry Palmer

If you're stuck inside a Len Deighton book, I suspect being woken regularly by having a bright light shone in your face is no fun at all. If you're me, it appears to be a tolerably good way to start the day.

Actually quite cheerful post long phonecall w/Ma. (Agriculture, Masonry, failures of technology, Peel - usual sort of ground)

:-)

I tried a wakey-up light a few years ago, but it did nothing for me. Now, of course, I wake up early whether I want to or not. I think I need something which radiates extra dark in the mornings.

Did you get a light box? I've heard great things about those!

(Me, I'm one of the lucky ones who'd be happy if it were midnight 24/7. I should have been a vampire.)

Not quite. (You freak... :) )

Actually, I was thinking about the tail-end of VPX (in response to a n00b asking if it should bunk off early on Friday. Ans: No!) and I think that long drive back down I95(?) was probably the best wasy of decompressing from the experience. For me, anyway. All I had to do was sit there...

The former, sadly. It certainly seems to be a Good Thing, but this is only the start of the second week with the device.

A sun-following robotic caravan would be rather Ballardian.

Experimenting with F.lux... sort of like it, but as the monitor's colour is profiled, I could manually switch day & not-day profiles. And then I'd have a reasonable idea what photos looked like.

Also, tried wakey-uppy lights and discovered they worked as well as "sounds like a siren" 1980s digital alarm clock. i.e. for ca. 2 weeks. Then I adjusted. And reverted to "sleep mode on".

Do like "daylight" bulbs all over the place though. The main problem being leaving them on 'cos it looks like "real" light.

Sounds like a good case for justifiable homicide in my book.

The light I wouldn't mind, especially at this time of year. As long as it isn't accompanied by large shouting men and having to sit in a hard wooden chair and (not) answer questions.
