Genuinely disturbing link of the day / cultural interchange is futile

In the main I avoid Gawker and like sites for the same reason I avoid the Daily Fascist (We had a nice man come to the door, offering 'a discount preview and focus group' of the 'new' Evening Fascist. I explained, as politely as I could, that Dacre & employers would get none of my money).

However, all these people are quite, quite mad.

what is this i don't even, get a grip, shove it under the door

1) MATCHES? Phwhut? and
2) I am going to assume that whoever wrote this has the most abysmal diet known to man. That their entire diet consists of floppy beige stuff that has been fried. Because they seem to be genuinely concerned about unleashing BUMAGEDDON.

Oh fishes, I once ate some "floppy beige stuff that had been fried". It was a barbecue and a vegan friend brought some non-meat that could (allegedly) hold together on a barbecue grill. It was described simply as "gluten" and looked like regurgitated cardboard, with the taste of a chicken that had died by drowning a week or two prior. Quite foul, but hardly fowl.

If you're referring to the Evening Standard, Dacre's company offloaded that a couple of years ago, so it's now safe to touch. It's still a bunch of shit though, just not offensive shit.

They even relaunched the paper with a post-Dacre ad campaign saying "SORRY" for all its previous racism etc.
