It turns out that if you have managed to make something best referred to as coulis, you can just tip it back into a saucepan and boil the stuff until it sees sense ( Read more... )

I have a tree and a half full of plums. As I probably can't scoff fast enough, maybe we should try some jam too.

They're not proper jam jars unless they've been in the family long enough that they don't have screwthread necks.

Or say 'hurrah' and break out the icecream.

I still hoard jars even though I never make jam or chutney. Every once in a while I have to give them away to conserve-minded friends, or really annoy the recycling collection men.
